The Literacy Shed
on Tour 2019

Picture
A brand new conference for 2019 bringing together many elements of Primary English teaching in order to enhance existing practice and improve outcomes for students.

The day will cover multiple reading strands including
  • VIPERS reading questions
  • Organisation of whole class reading
  • Developing Text Talk
  • Using film and image to enhance the reading process

As well as looking at writing elements such as
  • Vocabulary Instruction
  • Grammar
  • Film as a narrative structure
  • Thematic writing to enhance non-fiction writing
  • The editing process

The day will merge many of the areas above to demonstrate how reading and writing are inextricably linked and underpinned by high quality talk and vocabulary instruction.  Rob has been further refining his methods over the last 12 months and has been working with schools around the UK to measure their impact.  On each of the training days he will share outcomes from across KS1 and KS2 and show how the process is enhanced through picture books, still images and films alongside high quality children's books.

We currently have no dates for conferences in 2019 - 2020.  However, you may want to organise one for your school, teaching school or MAT.  These are popular with schools as they can generate income.
