'They're Here' is an advert for the games which shows many of the star athletes in training. It also includes scenes of how some athletes were injured, which you might choose to skip for younger children.
Teaching Ideas:
- Research some of the featured athletes and write biographies.
- Write letters to athletes and prepare questions for mock interviews, with other children responding in role.
- Write news reports on the success of the games.
- Write reports about individual events – many of them can be found easily on YouTube.
- There are several scenes in this film where two athletes are talking – children could write the dialogue for these moments.
