Dum Spiro
One Roman soldier's tricky experience
Dum Spiro is a messenger who has been asked by Caesar to take a message to The Barbarians, the problem is he is stopped in his tracks by a huge fierce bear living in the woods.
Although this cartoon has some Looney Tunes type action, it shows some Roman soldier armour etc to inspire the children. With lower juniors looking at the Romans I would not show the whole film. The sequences with the bear flying a helicopter could confuse them and allow them to think that helicopters and machine guns were weapons used by the Roman Legions. With upper juniors this could be a good discussion about the types of weapons that were available to the Roman foot soldiers.
