The Russ Brown Shed

Russ Brown is an experienced primary school teacher from the U.K. He was born in Liverpool and pursued a career in stage acting. However, the love of telling a good story, a great sense of humour and a natural ability to get a point across led him to teaching. His classroom experiences have highlighted to him the importance and joy of telling stories to children. He strongly believes that one of life's greatest moments is sharing a good story with his wife and two children.

The book is available via most online book stores, amazon & directly from the publishers at author house. Now also available on Kindle!!

Monsters in my Maths Book

My new book 'Monsters in my Maths Book' a rhyming story about the challenges all children suffer occasionally.

Poppy's Planet!

Poppys Planet tells the story, in rhyme of a magical flying penguin who sees the damage and destruction caused to our fragile planet by man. She discovers that although she is only small she can make us all aware that we can save the Earth. A beautiful and thought provoking picture book which deals with the sensitive issues of the environment in a child friendly way with illustrations by cartoonist Jamie Cosley.

Teacher Resources

I am constantly trying to create more and more resources which can be linked to the primary curriculum. I have a substantial guided reading pack which goes with Daisy the Donkey's First Fare and is available to schools either as a guided reading pack including 6 copies of the book and the teachers pack, or as an individual teachers pack.

If you would like more information on the Teachers packs please contact me via my website, email me or follow me on twitter.

If my work timetable allows I am happy to work within/alongside schools to promote Literacy within the Primary School. I am happy to work with youth groups and libraries in the same way and can set up writing groups and writing workshops online all for a nominal fee or even free depending on the organisation.

Testimonials:

I love this book! It is a really gentle and heart-warming story. As a school teacher I read many children's books and this has everything. It is nicely illustrated and leaves plenty of room for discussion with the child. It is just about the right length. It is a great bed time read and my children loved it.I was lucky enough to get a pre-publication copy of this book. I have read it to a number of classes at my school and they enjoyed it too. I think it is suitable for a wide range of ages from pre-school to about 10 years old. There is a lot of mileage in using it as a story in its own right but also as a tool for religious education or personal and social education in school. If this is this guy's first book, it won't be his last. Lovely!

I was recommended this book by a friend and bought a copy for my daughter (6) she loves it and asks for it as her bedtime book every night. We now know it off by heart and she still loves it a heart-warming traditional tale told from a modern viewpoint, we love it! :)

@russbrownauthor It's a wonderful, heart- warming story, about coming into your own when you feel different. It's great for kids and parents.
